Michaela Kiersch Climbs Amandla V14 8B

American Climber Michaela Kiersch has made significant waves in Rocklands South Africa yesterday by climbing Amandla V14 8B.

The Climb

Amandla is considered to be one of the hardest boulders in the world. The climb was first ascended by Daniel Woods in 2013 and has been repeated by only a handful of climbers since then. Kiersch is just the fifth woman to complete the climb.

The Climber

Michaela Kiersch is a prominent figure in the climbing world. Earlier this year, she made history by making the first female ascent of the Nose on El Capitan in under 24 hours. She is also known for her strong boulders, and her ascent of Amandla is a testament to her climbing skills.

The Finger Injury

The climb is especially impressive considering that Kiersch suffered a serious pinky finger injury just two weeks prior. However, she was determined to complete the climb and used the injury as motivation.

Kiersch is currently on a bouldering trip in Rocklands South Africa. She has been trying to complete a V10 or higher every climbing day.
