Celtics Cruise Past Mavericks in Game 1
Celtics Depth Proves Too Much for Dallas
Jayson Tatum Leads Boston with 39 Points
Jayson Tatum recorded 39 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists for the Celtics with Jaylen Brown adding 34. The Celtics defeated the Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinal series on Tuesday night.
For most of the NBA's regular season, there was little doubt as to who was the best team in the league. The Celtics finished with the league's best record and have continued to play at a high level in the playoffs.
The Mavericks, on the other hand, have been a surprise team this season. They finished the regular season with a 52-30 record and upset the top-seeded Phoenix Suns in the first round of the playoffs.
But the Celtics proved to be too much for the Mavericks in Game 1. Boston's depth was on full display, as they had seven players score in double figures. The Celtics also held the Mavericks to just 39.8% shooting from the field.
