Belmont Stakes to Move to Saratoga in 2024

Historic Race to be Run at Iconic Track for the First Time

Logo Unveiled for the 156th Running of the "Test of the Champion"

The New York Racing Association (NYRA) has announced that the 2024 Belmont Stakes (G1) will be held at Saratoga Race Course, marking the first time in its 156-year history that the race will not be run at Belmont Park. The decision to temporarily relocate the race was made due to ongoing renovations at Belmont Park, which are expected to be completed in time for the 2025 Belmont Stakes.

"We are excited to bring the Belmont Stakes to Saratoga Race Course in 2024," said NYRA President and CEO David O'Rourke. "Saratoga is one of the most iconic racetracks in the world, and we believe that it will provide a spectacular setting for this historic race."

The 2024 Belmont Stakes will be run on Saturday, June 8, and will be the centerpiece of a star-studded weekend of racing at Saratoga. The undercard will feature several other Grade 1 stakes races, including the Whitney Handicap (G1) and the Travers Stakes (G1).

The official logo for the 2024 Belmont Stakes was unveiled on Wednesday, January 11. The logo features a silhouette of the Belmont Stakes trophy superimposed on a backdrop of the Saratoga Race Course grandstand. The logo was designed by the creative team at NYRA.
